Winter Newsletter – December 2025
Dear Neighbors,
Winter is Here!!!
The first days of winter are the worst because local services are training new snow removal drivers, breaking in new vehicles, while old vehicles are just breaking down, and managers are adjusting coverage areas and service schedules.
This proved a spectacular failure last New Year's Eve when the County gave maintenance personnel the night off as a massive winter storm arrived, stranding vehicles up and down the Overlook Pass.
Our Property Manager, Barry Savage, working tirelessly with vendors and dedicated volunteers, has helped us prepare the Highlands for the winter season ahead. You can message Barry through "contact us" or if Urgent via [email protected], or Emergency call him at (304) 216-5713.
Autumn also reminds us that winter is just around the corner. The National Weather Service is predicting the possibility of early snow and icing in September and October, so please check the forecast before coming up and plan to use an appropriate winter vehicle and consider packing a fleece or winter coat.
We also encourage all homeowners to winterize you homes (Article):
With a bit of preparation now, we can all help keep our homes safe and comfortable throughout the colder months.
On behalf of the Board, thank you again for your participation and support of our community. We look forward to a productive fall season and a smooth transition into winter.
Warm regards,
Brian Sweeney
